The Huawei MA5683T is an advanced OLT (Optical Line Terminal) designed as a key component of GPON access network infrastructure. Housed in a 6U high chassis, the device provides a scalable foundation for telecom operators. Its architecture allows the installation of up to 6 GPON service boards, which translates into impressive connectivity. Using 16-port boards, the MA5683T is capable of supporting up to 1,288 subscribers, while in an 8-port board configuration the number is 6144. Components of the Kit and Their Functions
The standard Huawei MA5683T kit is comprehensively equipped with components for high performance and reliable operation. It includes:
- 2 PRTE power boards: operating redundantly at -48V DC, they guarantee continuous power supply to the OLT.
- 2 SCUN (Super Control Unit) control boards: Form the core of the control unit, they are responsible for system management, service switching and data aggregation. They also act as a management unit within the integrated NMS.
- 2 X2CS uplink boards: Each equipped with two SFP (10 Gbps) optical ports, providing high throughput for upstream or cascaded connections.
- MA5683T chassis: A basic 6U high unit to accommodate all components.
- Fan module: Responsible for maintaining proper operating temperature of the unit.
- Necessary accessories: Components to facilitate installation and configuration.
