The compact unit houses a fully professional processor-controlled charger with a power bank function and a three-stage TC/CC/CV charging process. It charges 3.6/3.7V Li-ion cells of any capacity in sizes 18650/20700/21700/26650. A built-in intelligent balancer controls the charging and discharging process, significantly extending battery life. The charger always starts by charging the more discharged cell. After reaching a similar charge level, it starts charging both batteries simultaneously. The same applies to discharging. The charger starts discharging from the more charged cell; when the charge levels equalize, it begins discharging both batteries simultaneously (power bank function). The TC/CC/CV charging method is a three-stage process for Li-ion cells, ensuring optimal cell condition by charging with the appropriate current at each stage and ending the charging process at the right time. The individual stages of the TC/CC/CV process are: • TC phase: cells discharged below 2.9V are 'awakened' with a lower current. • CC phase: after reaching 2.9V, the cell is charged with a constant current of 2x2A / 2x1A / 1x2A. • CV phase: when the cell is almost fully charged, the charger switches to charging with a decreasing current until a voltage of 4.2V is reached on the cell. Once 4.2V is reached, the charging process is complete - the battery is fully charged. Batteries with a voltage of 4.1V or higher are treated by the charger as charged. To fully charge such a battery, insert it into the charger before connecting it to the power supply. Charged batteries left in the charger will undergo a natural self-discharge process. Charging will resume when the battery voltage drops below 4.1V. The Xtar PB2S charger has a function to reactivate deeply discharged cells and 0V cells. Many chargers on the market cannot charge such batteries. The Xtar PB2S charger can often 'rescue' such cells. Simply insert a deeply discharged battery into the PB2S charger as with normal charging - the charger will detect the discharged cell and attempt to reactivate it. Note! Cells discharged below a certain level are irreversibly damaged, and their reactivation may be impossible. Avoid deeply discharging Li-ion batteries - this can significantly reduce their lifespan and capacity or lead to their complete failure. Chargers from other manufacturers can significantly increase the temperature of the charged cells during charging. Excessive heating of the cells can cause faster wear. When designing the PB2S charger, Xtar went a step further than the competition, solving this problem in a simple way: external power supply is used. This ensures that the temperature of the battery charged in the PB2S will increase by a maximum of 15 degrees. The Xtar PB2S charger comes with a USB Type-C cable. A power adapter is not included. To power the charger, use any charger with a USB port, such as a phone charger or a computer with a free USB port. A charger supporting QC3.0/PD3.0 is recommended to fully utilize the charger's capabilities. A lower-power charger can be used, but the charging time will be longer.
