Midland introduces a new, complete line of XT handheld radios operating on the publicly available PMR-446 standard. The offer includes 5 models and 2 carrying case sets enhanced with additional accessories. The line includes very attractively priced options like the Midland X10 and X30, as well as models with advanced functionality such as the Midland X50, X60, and X70. The Midland X50 and X70 Adventure versions are cases with 2 radios, headsets, chargers, and batteries. All radios have carefully designed housings, attractive packaging and, except for the entry-level X10, feature USB charging. Range: Maximum range depends on terrain and is greatest in open, flat areas. Obstacles such as trees, hills, and buildings reduce range. Radio waves propagate particularly poorly inside complex metal structures and from inside a car. Average range in a city among buildings and obstacles does not exceed 1 or 2 km. In sparsely built-up areas with individual trees, a range of 4-6 km is achievable. In open spaces without obstacles between antennas, such as in mountains, connections at distances of 10 km and more are possible.
