The OPTICUM W-20 amplifier is used wherever the signal from an external antenna (without an amplifier) reaching the receiver is too weak, resulting in image freezing or loss.
This is usually caused by: excessive distance between the antenna and the transmitter, natural obstacles (hills, trees), tall buildings between the transmitter and the antenna, signal splitting from the antenna to multiple televisions.
The amplifier is designed for use with directional external antennas with a balun terminated with an F connector.
The amplifier should be screwed directly into the balun socket at the antenna and supplied with 5-12 V from the receiver or power supply.
